Lochcarron is a small and pretty village community of white-washed cottages on the shore of Loch Carron in the Northwest Highlands of Scotland.

The village is situated at the head of a deep sea loch (Loch Carron), between the spectacular Torridon and Kintail mountain ranges. The nearest towns of some size are Inverness (63 miles) or Fort William (82 miles).

Carrachan Holiday Cottage's location combines the best of both worlds with its peaceful loch-front situation, whilst being a short distance (1 mile) from the centre of the village.  The village itself provides access to a range of local amenities including a well-stocked supermarket, several bars, a coffee shop, a number of restaurants/eateries and a local fish van selling a wide range of fresh fish which visits the village each week.

Lochcarron lies in the heart of an area traditionally known as Wester Ross, one of the wildest and most beautiful regions of the British Isles, with an abundance of wildlife and scenery, with rugged hills sweeping down into a sea loch and the Isle of Skye's Cuillin Mountains in the distance.

Many people come here just to relax in beautiful surroundings and "re-charge their batteries". Others, including sailors, cyclists, walkers, climbers, divers, fishermen, photographers and wildlife enthusiasts want to take advantage of the many outdoor possibilities available. Lochcarron is an ideal location from which to explore the west coast of Scotland with easy access to the Isle of Skye, Applecross, Torridon, Gairloch and the North Coast 500 route. The Isle of Skye bridge is only a short drive away (less than an hour), and this opens up an endless list of possibilities for those wishing to get to know Skye and its many attractions.
